Coconut Bacon!!

This stuff saves my life on a daily basis. Seriously. For those of us who might miss bacon, which is everyone, this magical smoky stardust is a great way to go. It's so simple, so wonderful, and incredible on salads, sandwiches, and out of the jar. 


- Unsweetened Coconut Flakes (16 oz. Bag)

- 1/4 - 1/3rd cup Maple syrup (The real business)

- 3 Tbsp. Gluten Free Tamari

- 2 Tbsp. Liquid Smoke 

Feel free to play with proportions to get the taste you like!!


Check the Method: 

Line a cookie sheet with Parchment Paper and preheat the oven to 350F

Add all liquid into bowl and mix well.

Throw Flakes in that same bowl and get your hands all up in it. Fully coat flakes with glaze.

Line sheet with coated flakes. Try to distribute it evenly then toss them in the oven, but don't go to far.

After 10 minutes, check on it. If the edges are browning already, remove sheet and fold outer edges in and push the center flakes out.

Pop it back in for another 5, Then do that shifting thing again. 

Finish baking for another minute or two. Once the coconut is nicely browned It's good to go! You can let it cool to crisp up and add a dash of sea salt to taste, then store it in a jar or airtight container.
